This is beautifully written. I find a lot of the advice for anything like this a little too vague; we need more of an instruction manual, a map. When we can't just flip the switch, a shame spiral can start, at least for me, it does. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Thank you, Victoria 🙏🏻 I'm also familiar with the shame spirals and how awful they feel. Which is why having tools to navigate difficult moments is very important.
Really nice read, Ilham! 💫 If you want to know why you're having feelings of guilt and shame when thinking of others' hard times, I think the book "Surrounded by Idiots" by Thomas Erikson will help you understand your type (in case you haven't come across it already). It's a great read (I recently started it myself too). I think you might have some Green traits, not all (the author says there are four core types of people in the world, and each of us can be a full core or a combination of these colors). I know you said you're an extrovert (I hope I remember it well), so your core might be one of Red or Yellow (which are extroverted). Green and Blue are introverted, and the feelings you described are only associated with Green, which makes me think you have some of it too (I'm the same on this one and much more of Green). I really found the descriptions very valuable (and so accurate) for understanding where we stand and how we can interact with other. Being aware of it might open some hidden mental eyes that will also help us handle our emotions and the people around us. Sorry for the long comment (if you read the book, sorry again 😁). Thanks for sharing your emotional journey with us! ❤️
Feel your feels. For many, it's so hard because we are used to pushing down and carrying on. You've written this so well IIham with the steps! 🪜✨ I'm here to remind us how to Feel, deal, heal🦋 together 🫂
A lovely well written guide Ilham. ‘We started to eat, scroll, drink, or shop our way out of discomfort’ - I did all of these (apart from scrolling, but had it been invented in my dark days, it would have been another coping strategy.)

Thank you so much, your words mean a lot to me 🙏🏻🤍
Pleasure was mine 🙏

Nicely done. We so often forget how to do this (especially with feelings we don't want). I appreciated the reminders!! More please.
